Niaz Sabaghchian joined Ashton Ross Law as a paralegal and after a short period of time she was offered a training contract. Niaz holds two bachelor’s degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology obtained from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver Canada and a Graduate Entry Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from City, University of London. She has also completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC), providing her with a strong academic foundation across both legal and behavioural disciplines.
Niaz is a trainee solicitor with growing experience across commercial and civil litigation. She brings a thoughtful, client-focused approach to legal practice, underpinned by training and hands-on experience in complex and sensitive matters.
As a trainee solicitor, Niaz supports the day-to-day conduct of cases, assisting with legal research, drafting and case management across a broad range of contentious work. She has experience preparing pre-action protocol correspondence, witness statements and detailed representations to the Home Office and other public bodies. Her work is characterised by careful attention to procedural requirements, clarity of analysis and a strong sense of professional responsibility.
Niaz has previously worked in financial litigation settings, where she assisted on matters involving litigation risk assessments and complex procedural frameworks. She has liaised with courts, external stakeholders and contributed to strategic case preparation, including disclosure reviews. She has also assisted on construction and debt recovery disputes, gaining exposure to commercial litigation and enforcement processes.
Alongside her legal training, Niaz has a strong interest in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). She has completed accreditation for civil and commercial mediation training with Society of Mediators. She also completed an Artificial Intelligence programme at the University of Oxford, where she examined the ethical and organisational implications of AI, reflecting her broader interest in the future of legal practice and responsible innovation.
She is fluent in English and Farsi, with limited working knowledge of Arabic, French and Italian. Outside work, Niaz is a mountaineer and has successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro.
